New Year, New Potential

By now we've seen all the headlines blaring on the front covers of the magazines and blogs: New Year, New You. There's no denying the fact that almost everyone uses the start of the new year as a time of reflection and to make some changes. But I learned a new way to think about it from my fabulous spin instructor Matthew Pasqua this morning at my gym. He said instead, new year, new potential. By saying new year, new you, Matthew said it's like saying we weren't good enough in the past. Rather, we should think of the start of the new year as a time to reach our new potentials.

Are you living to your full potential?

We need to say to ourselves that we are already fabulous, but we can be better. We need to maximize our true potential and reach our talents, our passions in 2010. Matthew's advice was incredibly spot on. It can not only be applied to our workout goals, but it also stands up to how we live our lives, how we are in our relationships, with our children, in our professions and even our hobbies.

So are you ready to make 2010 a spectacular year? Realize your potential and drive to be fabulous when you get out of bed.
